today marks the start of…

Today marks the start of a new era on this here journog (a term a thought I just coined for my journal blog…but I guess this isn’t new, I’m so behind!). Today I vow to myself to blog for myself more often. It needs to be my creative outlet again. So, my goal will be to post something new at least 4-5 times a week. Imagine that! Right now I’m at about once a month. We’ll see how this goes…I give myself a week, ha!

This week Cooper and I celebrate 9 years of dating. Since we both work from home we spend a lotttttttttttttttttttttttt of time together but if I had my choice I wouldn’t want it any other way. We are the perfect balance: he has a massive head and mine is rather small. Massive + rather small = just the right mix.

i would like to take photos of his hair…

I would like to take photos of our dog’s toupee but he is very very afraid of cameras. Poor guy. He never thought he’d be taken into the world of photo people. Every day his hair has some extra special flare to it but I just can’t act fast enough to capture the creation of the day. Some days it is parted down the middle. Other days (like now) he has a perfect curl on his forehead. Other days I’ve seen devil horns. He’s even done the “I just woke out of bed look” but you know he spent hours to get it just right. His toe hair even has a life of its own. So much toe hair it is incredible. I love this dog.

beckords try to cook

For my ma’s XXth birthday my sister and I decided to plan something interactive to celebrate. Since we are all lovers of food we thought why not learn how to make it? Actually, I should say, my sister planned this so I can’t take any credit.

We prepared…

the bruery is taking off faster than I can think

I know, it has been nearly two months since I have blogged. I have thought about blogging every day but my list of things that are more important get in the way. I have lots to record so I don’t forget what has happened in my little life 70 years from now…but in the meantime I have to share a proud friend moment:

I am sooooooooooooo thrilled with how much Rachel/Pat have done with The Bruery. I can’t even begin to comprehend all that is involved in starting a brewery, let alone making beer, let alone owning a business, let alone having it take off. But they have and it makes the hairs on my arm stand on end (I kind of have hairy arms and friends in elementary school made fun of me). The Bruery is all over the place and has beers ranked among the ten best in the world according to the highly selective Beer Advocate. I opened a favorite SF foodie newsletter today and what do I see? A feature on The Bruery. Then, I see that chow.com (also a favorite) has featured them as well. Look at this video, you’ll see how special they are:

The beers are good, the people are awesome and I am super super SUPER proud. Three cheers to Pat and Rachel.
