Oh how I love Boulder and coming home to be with family.  My addiction towards Amelia is growing stronger and stronger…I might need to go to AA (Amelia-ism Anonymous).  The moment Cooper and I arrived at my family’s bright yellow/mustard colored house, Amelia was drawn towards Cooper.  It was amazing to see how she felt so comfortable around him and flirted up the wazoo.  I might have to watch out or my niece might take my boyfriend from me!

Last night I had the pleasure of going out for happy hour with the one and only Miss VonHatten.  I decided that last night (actually I knew a long time ago, but it is good to refresh myself on my thoughts) that Ashley is one of those really good, normal persons in this world.  No more of this cloning sheep stuff.  Clone Ashley!  We hadn’t seen each other in about 4 or so years and even though it has been ages, it never once felt awkward or like we had been apart.  Oh!  And I now have a new favorite drink: The “Med Fizz” from the Boulder Cafe:  pomegranate molasses, lemonade, tonic water, and vodka.

Soon we are off to shoot a wedding.  Hopefully the winds, rain, and tornado warnings will hold off until morning.  Gotta love Colorado weather.

At a very young age I lost site of my mom in a local grocery store in Boulder, Colorado. I did, however, have the smarts to go to the customer service counter. The kind woman at the counter asked "What is your name little girl?" My reply: "Assi." The woman gave me a look like, "Are you playing with me you little devil?" but she proceeded to blast on the loudspeaker the "We have a lost Assi at the front of the store." Customers throughout the store gagged and giggled, but my mom knew exactly who the woman was referring to: the mullet haired little girl with a tongue too big for her mouth, wearing a leotard, skirt, tights, and jelly shoes (with florescent green laces in them...even though they didn't need the laces). A shy little character for whom every little detail in life was a huge thing. I am pleased to report that today I am able to fully pronounce Allison (aka Ali), but the Assi pseudonym has always stuck, evolving into Aszi. As for the shy little character for whom every little detail in life was a huge thing? Some things never change.
