I have an idea for the world…

Over the weekend I went with my men to The Fremont Diner in Sonoma for some good soul food.

While there I saw two guys who kept looking over at our table. I’m not sure what the draw to us may have been, probably C-tron’s good looks or maybe they hate dogs at restaurants, but then I thought, “Maybe they are talking about buying our lunch!” (and then I laughed in my head because that was a silly thought…no one does that). But it got me thinking…given the poor economy and knowing how so many people are struggling…what if we started a movement to anonymously cover the tab (or even a portion of the tab) for a random unsuspecting stranger/s? I know a lot of us don’t have a lot of extra spending cash but I know how good it feels to do something for others and how good it feels to be the recipient of a random act of kindness. Imagine your reaction if you were the giver or receiver. Might give people a little ray of light in such a bummer of a time. Oh, and this would have to be done anonymously so as not to insight any feelings of guilt or push back from the receiver. Alright, that is just my thought for the day. Go do it.

it is an indoor day and this is my theme song

It is the weekend and we are going to stay inside and work (surprise!) but possibly come up for air on Sunday and go out to lunch here.

I firmly believe that it is good to have motivational music or a theme song when you are working on the weekends so today I declare this to be my theme song:

Makes you do the hippy hippy shake, doesn’t??!?!

While you are watching videos, this Indian version of Thriller is pretty special:

woot woot! AsziChild Photography is UP!

Yeee haaaw! This has been a long time coming but I’m finally ready to say AsziChild Photography is alive! I’d love to have everyone in the world over for a launch party, I just need to mop my floors first.

The picture below is what my face looks like right now (but imagine it with gray hairs, wrinkles, fairer skin, no dimples, lots of freckles…so pretty much not like this but I do have a MASSIVE smile on my face).

three cheers for Jamie Lee Curtis

Halloween has come and gone. Five things of note:

1.) Happening upon an unexpected dog Halloween party while walking with your dog on Halloween night is delightful. Our dog wasn’t dressed for the party but he looks quite like a black sheep so that counts, right?
2.) Living in a building full of lofts where people like to open their doors and throw multiple Halloween parties all at once is also quite delightful. Kind of like a college dorm but with 30+ year olds. I don’t think I found any pee in the hall so I guess maybe not quite college dorm but close.
3.) I’ve come to the point in my life where Facebook on Halloween is now comprised of kids/babies in costumes rather than big adult peoples in costumes. Congrats to all the mamas and papas out there…you guys have a lot of really cute kids.
4.) Also, related to #3 why hadn’t anyone thought to create the warm/cozy sweat suit-ish costumes in the 80’s to keep us kids warm way back when? I recall lots of hard plastic and thin fabrics and the first night of snow happening on Halloween night.
5.) C-tron and I declared that every Halloween we would like to institute a tradition of caramel apple eating. Caramel apple eating is good for the soul (as long as we don’t have dentures).

Homemade salted caramel sauce, a couple of apples, paired with The Bruery Autumn Maple beer, a glass of milk (to be consumed with the apple not with the beer) and the movie Halloween = even more delightful feelings.

Three cheers to Jamie Lee Curtis! (we really did cheers to her and yes I really did take a photo of our TV while watching the movie. I had the camera right there so I thought “Why not?!”).

she asked for it…

I have a friend who long ago requested that some day I give her a locket with a photo of me/C-dawg in it. So, on the day of her birth I gave her a locket with a photo of me C-dawg in it:

The best part (besides the massive smile on her face when she opened the locket): she showed her new treasure to a friend at her bonfire beach birthday party her friend asked “Are those your parents?!” Double ha!

summer funtronicus

A trip to Washington…our last hurrah for summer. Since we don’t ever really get to DO summer because of our jobs it sure feels good to …

go on boat rides and wear red life vests…

take some photos while still wearing the red life vest…

really try to work the red life vest…

Got my foot stuck in the oooooey mud (no red life vest in this one)…

Boating and kayaking!

Yes, these are really my white skinny arms….

And perhaps the most life changing moment: buying a madolin! I can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, have cut my nails and am working on getting good, thick calluses on my finger tips.

Love ya, summer. I’m drinking my last bit of watermelon juice while also eating pumpkin pie. The transition to Fall has begun.

blackberry picking

We went blackberry picking today…yes’m I mighty reckon we did. The berries were sweet, their thorns were sharp and I ate most of my goods (in other words my bucket wasn’t very full). C-tron was the best picker. Or maybe I’m the best picker because I picked the best picker?

guess what I just did…

Guess what I just did…

I wheeled in my old school Steelcase chair from my desk to the kitchen…poured myself some coffee…wheeled back to my desk (without spilling the coffee)…wheeled back to the kitchen to get a glass of water…wheeled back to my desk…then wheeled over to my dog to give him a hug…then back to my desk….all without getting off of my tush once!

Practicing for the nursing home.
